KASOL KHEERGANGA

3 Days

FROM DEHRADUN

Overview

The Kasol Kheerganga trek is a popular, relatively easy to moderate trek in the Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India, making it suitable for beginners as well as experienced trekkers. It typically takes 1-2 days to complete, covering a total distance of approximately 24 km (12 km one way) from the base village of Barshaini.

The trek starts from Barshaini, which is about 16 km from Kasol and easily accessible by local transport. There are generally three routes from Barshaini: via Nakthan village (the shortest and most preferred), via Kalga village (less popular and passes through dense forests), and via Tosh village (often used by those staying overnight in Tosh).

Throughout the trek, you’ll witness stunning Himalayan landscapes, dense pine and deodar forests, and numerous waterfalls, including the prominent Rudra Nag waterfall. The trail follows the Parvati River, offering picturesque views. The highlight of the trek is reaching Kheerganga, situated at an altitude of approximately 2,950 to 3,050 meters (9,700 to 10,000 feet) above sea level. Here, you’ll find natural hot water springs (Parvati Kund), believed to have medicinal properties, where trekkers can relax and rejuvenate after the hike. There’s also an ancient Lord Shiva temple nearby.
