SAR PASS TREK

5 Days

FROM DEHRADUN

Overview

The Sar Pass trek is a popular and rewarding adventure located in the Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. It’s generally classified as an easy to moderate trek, making it suitable for beginners with a good level of physical fitness, as well as experienced trekkers.

The trek typically spans 5-6 days, covering a distance of approximately 37-48 kilometers. It starts from the vibrant village of Kasol, known for its bohemian vibe and as a hub for backpackers. From Kasol, the trail ascends through diverse landscapes, including dense deodar, pine, and rhododendron forests, charming local villages like Grahan, and scenic meadows such as Min Thach and Biskeri Thach.

The maximum altitude reached on the Sar Pass trek is around 13,800 feet (4,200 meters) at the Sar Pass summit. “Sar” in the local dialect means a lake, and trekkers pass by a small, often frozen lake near the summit, which gives the trek its name.
